Katrina has been taking photos for 10 years – though mainly it has been of birds and butterflies. There is in fact one butterfly photo that was taken as a bet in 6th grade:

She then proceeded to turn this in for a photo contest because it was a high school art assignment – and she procrastinated. It got second place at a photography contest, where she was really really confused as to what “film vs digital” was ( she took this on a kodak with auto settings).
5 years, a color guard state championship metal, a producer ex boyfriend, and master’s degree in digital audience strategy later, she is now volunteering at a local venue called Groundworks, where she started taking photos of the bands for social media. It then all spiraled to what you see on this site today; A drive to support the Tucson Artist Scene.
Why? As a Tucson local, we always say one thing-
There’s nothing to F#^*king do here
But, after seeing the wonder in kids eyes, the relief of artists when they have an opportunity to be great, and the audiences desire for catharsis within community, this does not seem to be the case anymore.
This website will continue to be a documentation of that.
