4 Concerts in Tucson This Friday – Choose Wisely

Kat’s personal story.

About 2 months ago, I decided to rsvp for a work event on Friday. Because of this decision, I unpredictably had to deny 3 gigs, each at different venues, all slated for that day. If I knew I would have this dilemma, I would not have rsvp’ed in the first place. However, doing a three show run would have been a challenge.

So I have an excuse as to why I didn’t choose which gig to go to this Friday. You, however, do not have that.

You’re going to a show on Friday. Here’s the four to pick.

Unfortunately, I was not able to find a mouthguard show, so that kinda sucks 😦 However, If I’m wrong, put the show in this form here.

Your choices:

Breakout Show:

Gabe Gomez presents : KILT: COLDII, KP KAI, DEEJAY, IVAN GOMEZ, BIG VINCI, LANGSUARA, RASTA BABY art by DEPTHS OF LINES

  • When: Friday, April 25th, 8PM
  • Where: Brick Box Brewery
  • Genre: Rap, Indie
  • Price: Free
  • Why go? I did K.I.L.T.’s show here back in February of 2024, and good lord the vibes were one of the best. Every person in that lineup supported the fuck out of each other and they showed it. If you just want to see a bunch of artists hype each other up and be happy that they are able to perform, this is it. Also, I cant help but admit that Deejay and Ivan just know how to perform. The stage is a part of them.
  • ColdII: Rapper that uses a bit of chiptune, haunting vocals, and some synths to create some beats with some bounce to it. Instagram
  • KP Kai: That Michael Jackson 80’s beat and Weeknd style harmonies that I just eat up every time. Instagram
  • Deejay: Old school Mac Miller’s floral and somber tone that transitions into upbeat melodies. Instagram
  • Ivan Gomez: I can’t get enough of this guys beats and sampling. Man’s got variety from old school to Kanye to Kendrick. The man knows the styles like the back of his hand. Instagram
  • Big Vinci : Drill beat flow but gets rebellious if they got something to prove. Instagram
  • Langsuara : Some slow, 70′ style rock that’s been brought to the modern age of indie. Instagram
  • Depth of Lines: Elias Stancer is a digital and rug artist that excels at using a blend of pastel and bright colors to create a distorted Murakami style.

    • He was actually my spotlight for the newsletter last week! If you would like to see other artists highlighted, subscribe here!

Dancing Guaranteed:

Neutral Terrain with All Yours and Simple Existence

  • Price: $10 at door
  • Why Go? God Neutral Terrain is so fun to watch. They made 3 hour gigs feel like one. Their music is also incredibly catchy.
    • I’ve talked about All Yours Here, but I have a lot of photos of them, so here’s more photos of all yours because I am a photographer and it is my blog.
  • Neutral Terrain: Slightly Smash Mouth style punk pop and performers that know how to keep the energy high! Instagram
  • Here’s a video highlighting their performance!
  • Simple Existence: If you ever just want to hear three doors down in the shower with a cold one then boy do I have a band for you. Instagram

Elephant in the Venue

Desert Child Album Release Party with Hookie! and Lizzie

  • When: Friday, April 25th, 7PM
  • Where: Slowbody Beer
  • Genre: Indie rock
  • Price: Free
  • Why go? An “Elephant in the venue” show is a show where I would be stupid not to mention it, and yes it is the case for this Desert Child show here. Its their album release show, they have Lizzie in it, I can’t rave about them enough. I’ve mentioned both in this post here!
    • Hookie ( instagram): A band that has yet to release a single, so you can only see nd hear their excellence live. Truly one of the best bands in terms of interacting with each other and the audience. Don’t believe me? Pictures.

Chill Show

Sleepyhead, 2023

ETR Presents: Sore!, Sleepyhead, Troubadour, DesperatePleasForMercy

  • When: Friday, April 25th, 7PM
  • Where: Groundworks
  • Genre: Indie

  • Why Go? If you are feeling a more “guy with an acoustic guitar” show, then you’re in luck! Except there’s a kick to it!
    • Sore!: Bits of screams here, bits of electric guitar screeching there, and a lot of sweet little strumming. Instagram
  • Sleepyhead: That slight beach-bedroom pop sound that does in fact make your heart glow. Instagram Music Video
  • Troubador: Indie with a hint of blues in their melodies. Instagram
  • Desperate pleas for Mercy: Yep, that is some quirky midwest emo. Instagram
